One of NeuroTech Leuven's activities is to compete in international neurotechnology competitions as a multidisciplinary team. Each year a team within the organization creates a brand new project.
The Mindwitcher project leverages EEG signals to perform two main functions within The Witcher 3 game: 1. Spell Casting and Horse Calling: EEG signals related to movement and imagined movement are used to call the player's horse and cast spells. 2. Emotion-based Weather Modification: EEG signals related to the player's emotions dynamically modify the game's weather conditions. Our solutions are designed to be "plug-and-play" or require minimal per-session calibration to maximize accuracy and user experience. Learn the details on our github.
Learn moreBrainBrowsR is a software stack that allows a user to control the browser through SSVEP. We want to unlock social media for people with extreme paralysis, ALS or locked-in syndrome. To achieve this, we built a web extension that inserts stimuli into the web page. These flickering elements generate a specific electrical signal in the brain, which we can measure with a commercially available electroencephalogram (EEG) headset. Find more details on our Github repository.
Learn moreThe software team consists of engineers and scientists with a passion for bringing code to life. They make sure the brain wave signals are properly processed for a given application, develop user-friendly software and always dare to further improve on existing algorithms.
The hardware team makes sure our state of the art devices work, both on their own and when combined. By using 3D printing and electronics, they deliver accessible, user-friendly and innovative technologies to society.
Each year NTX organizes its famous NTX Student Club Competition in which NeuroTech Leuven will compete against 25+ student clubs world wide.
